The flood map is a history, not a requirement
Remediation is not permit-heavy, so the map's value is historical. A parcel inside a mapped zone, or with a record of surge or storm intrusion, changes what an assessment should look for — contamination inside cavities from an earlier event rather than only visible growth. Peninsula humidity is a separate and constant driver unrelated to any flood.

Separate past intrusion from present humidity
Citywide mapping cannot tell you whether your property has taken water, what is inside the cavity, or what is keeping material damp now. Establish history with the city and the current source with an assessor who does not sell the removal.
